House sales on the top 50 most expensive roads in Hale and Hale Barns have totalled an astonishing half a billion pounds since 2000, exclusive research by Altrincham Today has discovered.

Data from the Land Registry reveals that there have been 522 sales on the top 50 roads in Hale and Hale Barns between the turn of the century and the end of July 2014, each averaging over £1m in price.

The total figure for all sales on the 50 roads in question is £530,670,633, confirming the extent of the property boom in recent years – and emphasising the degree to which the area is now one of the most exclusive, and expensive, property locations in the country.

The most expensive house sold during that period was The Dingle on South Downs Drive, which went for £6m in August 2011, with South Downs Drive also the most expensive road overall, with 10 sales at an average of £2.4m.

The top 16 in the list were in Hale, with just 12 out of the 50 roads in Hale Barns. Carrwood, with an average sale of £1,115,250 during the period, was the most expensive street in Hale Barns.

Carrwood was also the most prolific in terms of house sales during the period, with a total of 36 sales completed between 2000 and the end of July 2014. Other in-demand roads included Bankhall Lane (34 sales) and Arthog Road (33 sales).
