Come and take part in special sea-themed music, singing and storytelling sessions and a CBeebies treasure hunt. Climb aboard the CBeebies pirate ship, get hands on with some splash science and have a go at a special Mister Maker make! There will be lots more free and fun activities for children aged 2 to 6 and their families. You’ll also be able to watch CBeebies Peter Pan live on a big screen outside The Lowry on Saturday 11th. This event is entirely FREE!

2. Get in early for Brick or Treat at Legoland

The month-long Brick-or-Treat celebration began at Legoland last week. Why not get ahead of the half term crowds and enjoy some early Halloween fun! Visitors are invited to spread ghoulish cheer with a range of activities including: Hunt for the spooky ghosts, skeletons and other surprises in MINILAND® Manchester; Help build a LEGO® pumpkin; or dare to enter Professor Brickenstein’s haunted factory tour (all children receive a Halloween factory brick). Children can also enjoy all the usual lego fun highlights including the 4D cinema, LEGO Ninjago training camp, Fire Academy and lots more!

Legoland Discovery Centre, Barton Square, Trafford Centre, M17 8AS. Open between October 7th and November 2nd.

4. Do the parkrun – and take the pushchair! (Saturday October 11th)

Join this weekly 5km run – it’s free but you will need to register before your first run so that you get an accurate time. You’ll only ever register with parkrun once and then don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode so you can collect your recorded time. It’s a family friendly event – runners of all ages are welcome, even those running with a pushchair. Afterwards, grab a post-parkrun coffee at the lovely Courtyard Tea Room within the park.

Wythenshawe Park, Wythenshawe Road, Wythenshawe, M23 0AB. Starts at 9am.
