Police are searching for three men who left staff “deeply shocked and upset” after an armed raid on Iceland in Timperley village.

At around 6.55am on Tuesday, October 21, the men pushed their way past staff who were working at the back of the Stockport Road supermarket.

One of them carried a knife and another a crow bar. After demanding money from staff belonging to the shop, they demanded that the staff hand over their own personal mobile phones.

No-one was injured in the terrifying raid.

Detective Constable David Wood said: “The staff members have been left deeply shocked and upset what happened. No one should go to work and be put through an ordeal like this.

“Due to the time of the incident, we believe a number of people would have been getting ready or on their way to work. If you saw three men running away from the scene, we are keen to hear from you.”

One man is described as being white, 5ft 8in tall, of stocky build. He wore a green hooded jacket, dark blue balaclava, dark gloves, dark trainers and spoke with a local accent.

The second was white, over 6ft tall, of thin build, wore a black ski jacket with the hood up, dark gloves and balaclava.

The third was white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, wore a coat with the hood pulled up, black gloves with white wavy lines on the back, Nike trainers with white soles and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 7530 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
