Woman cyclist dies after collision with pedestrian

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died yesterday after a collision in Altrincham.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died after a collision in Altrincham.

The 49-year-old woman was riding her bike along Moss Lane in an easterly direction on Friday evening when she collided with a pedestrian.

She was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries yesterday.

PC Neil Pennington from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies go out to this woman’s family who are being supported by specially trained officers at this tragic time.

“We have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision. If you were in the area on Friday evening and witnessed the incident, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
