Three children had a lucky escape this morning after they were involved in a two-car crash close to Altrincham Retail Park.

Three children had a lucky escape this morning after they were involved in a two-car crash close to Altrincham Retail Park.

The crash happened at the junction of Salisbury Road and Manchester Road in Broadheath at 9.11am.

The three children were in one of two cars involved in the incident but managed to escape unharmed.

One man was trapped in a Ford Focus for an hour before he was cut free by fire crews who attended from Altrincham, Sale and Ashton-under-Lyne stations.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance after complaining of back pain.

A woman driving a Mercedes was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The incident caused severe traffic congestion in the area this morning but the scene was cleared by around 11.30am.
