Hale Barns star’s delight as the Real Housewives get a second series

The Hale Barns-based star of the Real Housewives of Cheshire says she is “so happy” that the reality show has been recommissioned for a second series.

The Hale Barns-based star of the Real Housewives of Cheshire says she is “so happy” that the reality show has been recommissioned for a second series.

The tales of the Champagne-fuelled excesses of a group of six Cheshire-based women has proven a hit for new channel ITVBe, attracting 600,000 viewers, second only to The Only Way is Essex on the channel.

Much of the action in the first series took place in Altrincham, with the high street and restaurants of Hale a regular backdrop.

Half the cast actually live in the town – Bowdon’s Lauren Simon, a mother of two originally from Hale, Bowdon-based Magali Gorre and Ampika Pickston, who owns the Opium hair and beauty salon in Hale Barns.

And Pickston was clearly delighted to hear that the show’s success had convinced ITV to give it a second run.

She said on Twitter: “I am so happy to announce all us ladies are back for series 2!!!!! I have had to keep it quiet. At last I can share the news with you.”

Filming will begin in June will the series scheduled to air on television “later in the year”, ITV said.
