Free tickets to see “captivating” Trish Heenan live at the Cinnamon Club on Saturday – with Altrincham Today

Her voice has been described as “captivating”, and this Saturday jazz star Trish Heenan is to play a gig at The Cinnamon Club to launch her new album, Circle Games.

The Bowdon venue says that those attending can look forward to “an evening of beautifully arranged classics from the Great American Songbook and modern masters including Lennon and McCartney and Joni Mitchell”.

Heenan will be accompanied by saxophone legend Bobby Wellins, Neil Burns on guitar, Bowdon’s own Jamie Safiruddin on piano, Brazil bassist Mario Carib and the Caz Boaden on drums.

Also at the Cinnamon Club this week, two of the world’s leading jazz photographers will be exhibiting over 40 of their portraits.

William Ellis and Bob Barry’s work will be on display at the venue from Thursday until Saturday, and at 7.30pm on Thursday evening they’ll be on hand to talk about their subjects and the stories behind the pictures.
