Two teenagers have been charged with robbery being caught on a tram by police minutes after the theft of a mobile phone from a 15-year-old boy in Timperley.

Two teenagers have been charged with robbery after being caught on a tram minutes after the theft of a mobile phone from a 15-year-old boy in Timperley.

The victim was robbed on South Meade while walking home from Timperley Metrolink station. The incident happened on Monday evening at 8.35pm.

He was forced to hand over a mobile phone after being approached by two males.

Police subsequently traced two males on a tram heading towards Piccadilly.

Police have now charged two males, aged 14 and 15, with robbery.

The pair appeared before Trafford Magistrates’ Court yesterday and the case has been referred to Manchester Magistrates’ Court on June 19th.
