Altrincham vs Cancer event raises thousands for The Christie

A total of 28 local businesses and community groups came together last week for the 3rd annual Altrincham vs Cancer event.

A total of 28 local businesses and community groups came together last week for the 3rd annual Altrincham vs Cancer event.

Held at Pure Gym in Altrincham town centre, the event has so far raised £2,828 for The Christie and saw participants run a total of 140km on the treadmills.

Organiser Alex McCann said: “Seeing the community come together for something as important as Altrincham vs Cancer is really heart-warming to see – the whole town really does get behind us and cheers us on.”

The three annual events have so far raised £7,472 for The Christie, and for the past two years the event has been recognised by JustGiving for being in the top 3% of fundraisers in the UK.
