Altrincham firm LIFT-Financial is celebrating after being named Chartered Financial Planning Firm of the Year for the second time in four years.

The company, headquartered in Altrincham town centre, received the highest accolade at the Personal Finance Society Awards, held at Wembley Stadium and hosted by comedian Rory Bremner (pictured above, left, with LIFT co-founder Joel Adams and Richard Romer-Lee).

LIFT was also recently honoured at a special Gold Standard Awards ceremony, held at the House of Commons.

The Gold Standard Awards have been supporting higher standards in financial services in the UK for the past 14 years, and just six financial planning firms nationwide met the level required this year.

Set up in 2007 with a team of eight, LIFT-Financial now has 75 staff across offices in Altrincham, London and Edinburgh, and last year recorded a turnover of £3.8m.

Co-founder Joel Adams said: “These awards are a real endorsement of the way we do things at LIFT-Financial. We’ve worked hard to instill Chartered values throughout the business and it’s this approach, together with investment in the professional development of the team, that’s behind our success.”

Deborah Benn, chair of the judging panel for the Gold Awards, added: “Many congratulations on passing what has been a very stringent year in terms of judging. A common thread of those that have achieved Gold Standard status is the clarity of their proposition and, importantly, how processes and services are developed and adapted to fit clients’ needs rather than shoehorning clients into inflexible structures.”
