A 120-year-old former office space on Stamford New Road has been transformed into luxury apartments – with all four snapped up and now occupied.
The interest in Victoria House reflects a growing demand for town centre accommodation in Altrincham.
It’s one of a number of residential projects currently being handled in Altrincham by Novo Property Group, which bought the 250-year leasehold interest in Victoria House from Barton Properties (UK) Ltd back in 2015.
Novo, which describes the former office space as being “cluttered with junk, characterless and vacant” when it secured the keys just 18 months ago, has delivered a sympathetic transformation of the centrally located apartments.
All four, comprising 4,000 sq ft of apartment space, were quickly sold to owner-occupiers who have all now moved in.
And Ben Fearns, managing director of Novo Property Group, says the conversion of Victoria House is the perfect illustration of the “remarkable transformation” of Altrincham town centre.
“The re-use of this stunning heritage asset has re-thought a prominent but neglected feature in the heart of the town centre,” he said. “Its vacant commercial status and rebirth as high-end homes is a pleasure to deliver back to the community.”
Novo is also the company behind both The Tannery new-build project in Goose Green, a residential project at 28 The Downs and 60 Stamford New Road, the offices above the original Dilli restaurant, which are also being converted into apartments.
In fact, Novo will be delivering 50 new homes in the town centre over the next two years, committing over £11million into the local economy.
