An air stewardess from Altrincham has teamed up with three colleagues in a bid to run the London Marathon – dressed as a plane.

Caroline Brown, who has been a member of Monarch Airlines’ cabin crew based at Manchester Airport for 12 years, is hoping she and fellow staff members Jacq Jones, Simon Gauge and Steve Day will set a new Guinness World Record for completing the 26.2mile-race as a four-person team in fancy dress.

The record currently stands at just over five hours and 25 minutes.

Caroline said she was taking on the “crazy challenge” to raise as much money as possible for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Care Support – her individual JustGiving page is here. The event takes place on April 23rd.
