Altrincham’s Vue Cinema will have three special showings for families this Christmas.
A variety of live theatre, classic films and a filmed theatre performance will come to the Denmark Street cinema as part of its Big Screen Events calendar.
On Monday December 3rd, a live ballet performance of one of the Royal Ballet’s most popular productions, The Nutcracker, will be shown with an encore screening on Sunday December 9th.
The performance will see Tchaikovsky’s much-loved score accompany Clara and her enchanted Nutcracker as they embark on a magical journey to the Kingdom of Sweets.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the classic Raymond Briggs picture book, the enchanted Oscar-nominated animation, The Snowman, is also coming to Altrincham.
In a special double-bill screening, the short film will be shown back-to-back with its 2012 sequel, The Snowman and the Snowdog, on December 8th and 9th.
Thirdly, The CBeebies Christmas Show is coming to cinemas for the first time ever and will be shown in Altrincham on Saturday December 15th.
Filmed at the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, the performance centres on the well-loved CBeebies star Thumbelina.
