Altrincham’s Traders Tiki Bar raised £5,000 for a children’s charity over the Christmas party season – with most of the money collected by well-known employee Vitto Trigiani.

Vitto, an Italian who is a familiar face around Goose Green and gives out garlands during his Saturday night shift at Traders, collected coins and notes from party goers during the festive season.

And the £5,000 raised has been donated to Destination Florida, a Manchester-based charity which organises trips of a lifetime for children with life-threatening and life-limiting medical conditions.

“The people of Altrincham were so generous and it is amazing that with this money we can help children through this charity and send them on a holiday of a lifetime,” said Vitto.

“This money will make a huge difference to the children, and I’m so proud of the local people.”

Vitto also helped raise over £1,000 for CAFT during last year’s Goose Green Festival.
