A man was attacked with a crowbar and punched and kicked while lying on the floor by four men who had tried to gain entry to his home in Bowdon.

A man was attacked with a crowbar and punched and kicked while lying on the floor by four men who had tried to gain entry to his home in Bowdon.

Officers are appealing for information after the attack at around 9:45pm on Thursday 7th March 2019.

Four men approached the victim as he got out of his car at the property just off Green Walk and was walking to his front door.

One of the men threatened him with a crowbar and demanded that he hand over his watch.

After telling the offenders that he wasn’t wearing a watch and refusing to grant them entry to his home – where his children were sleeping – the victim was hit in the face with the crowbar and punched in the head before being punched and kicked as he lay on the floor.

The attack only stopped when neighbours heard the man shouting for help, at which point the offenders fled the scene on foot.

All four are described as white, about 5ft 11 tall and of slim build and wearing dark clothing and balaclavas. The offenders were seen to be carrying a crow bar and a hammer; however another also claimed that he had a knife.

The victim of this attack sustained facial injuries and was described as being “extremely shaken up”.

Anyone who has any information about the robbery should call police on 0161 856 60955 quoting incident number 2210 of 7/3/19.

Details can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
