Police are investigating after a Timperley office building was broken into over the weekend – with all 11 businesses on the first floor vandalised.

At some stage between Saturday evening and 7am this morning, burglars entered the building – which is located prominently in the middle of Timperley village – by a side door at the rear, between dry cleaners Laundryplus hair and beauty salon Village.

A key safe was pulled off the wall in the building’s kitchen area and keys were used to enter some offices, while other offices had their doors smashed, with signs that a crowbar had also been used to gain access.

And while the ground-floor businesses in the building – including Costa Coffee and Sainsbury’s – appear to have been unaffected, the intruders stole petty and computer equipment from numerous businesses on the first floor, with all suffering some form of damage. Most will need new doors.

Katy Fagan is a director at one of the businesses affected, DKF Recruitment.

She said: “The majority of the businesses in Paul House are small local businesses and this has been a real knock to everyone in the building.”

The building is owned by The Forward Property Group Ltd and office units on the first floor range in size from 200 to 1600 sq ft.

Police attended the scene at around 10am this morning. We have contacted GMP for a further update.
