Volunteers are required for a new event from the team behind the popular Altrincham French Festival.

The Altrincham Healthy Living Festival, sponsored by Naturelly Jelly Juice, is a free all-day event taking place on Saturday February 14th at the Grafton Centre on George Street.

Between 10am and 4pm, there will be range of family activities including a healthy pop-up cafe selling locally sourced food and drinks and fitness displays and information from local gym instructors and sports groups.

There will also be arts and crafts, competitions, book readings, face-painting, real farm animals, a lifestyle zone with stalls and demonstrations on beauty and health, outdoor dance displays and group exercises.

And the team behind the event are now looking for more volunteers to help on the day with setting up, directing visitors, handing out leaflets and promotional items and assisting the stall holders and event organisers. Anyone interested should email Becs Jeffrey at altyhealthyliving@hotmail.com.

The festival is part of a Healthy High Streets campaign that will provide intensive support for 100 high streets – including Altrincham – over a three-year period through access to business expertise and other resources.

Altrincham Forward is also running an online campaign to promote the wide range of health related products or services available in the Altrincham area.

Lead organiser Zainul Sachak said: “I am a big supporter of the regeneration of Altrincham and have organised the event as a way of bringing together people from all sections of the local community to focus on wellbeing as we start 2015.

“It will be a fun-filled family day with a wide variety of activities, and we also hope to raise a bit of money for a local charity, the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham through a raffle on the day. I would like to thank the many local businesses and Altrincham Forward for their support in putting this unique event together.”
