Redrow has been given the green light to build a further 11 houses and six apartments on the Stamford Brook development.

The housebuilder has won planning approval for phase 11 of the scheme – branded The Acorns – which will comprise 11 three and four-bedroom homes and six one-bed apartments.

It will be located on the former Brookside farm, off Heathermount in Broadheath.

A Redrow (NW) spokesperson said: “Building work at our latest Altrincham development, The Acorns, will begin shortly with the first homes due to be released for sale via The Birches in May/June.

“Our Heritage Collection of traditional looking homes have been incredibly popular in the area and we’re looking forward to offering much needed quality family homes in this desirable neighbourhood.”

In its planning application, Redrow said the development had been designed “with a firm understanding of the local character” and that it would “clearly enhance the immediate area by making use of an unattractive area of land and transforming it to make it in keeping with the surrounding street scenes”.

Redrow has been a partner builder on the Stamford Brook development – sited on part of the National Trust’s Dunham Massey Estate – since construction began in 2004.
