Stamford Van & Car Hire has invested £1.3m in a new, larger depot in Altrincham.

The new branch, on Hartington Road, will be opened by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor John Holden, on Thursday.

It has created a number of new jobs, including positions for a graduate trainee manager, apprenticeships and customer service staff.

Branch manager Deborah Johnson said: “As a local resident like many of my colleagues we are delighted at the expansion and to move into a modern and environmentally friendly building, it is great to see young people come into our workplace as apprentices and watch them mature into trades people.”

The new build was developed just around the corner from the previous site on Manchester Road, which closed earlier this year.

Stamford Van & Car Hire was acquired by the Turner Group in 2003 but still trades under the Stamford brand.
