Eleven weeks after the attempted robbery, there’s still no reopening date for Timperley Post Office.

The Post Office headquarters in London today confirmed to Altrincham Today that repairs to the Stockport Road branch are still yet to commence.

And there’s still no indication whether it could be weeks or months until the well-used branch reopens.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “The Postmaster is working with their insurance company to arrange for repairs to the Post Office and return it to service.

“We would like to reassure customers that we are committed to restoring Post Office services to Timperley and apologise for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the branch.”

A gang used gas in the June 3rd incident in an attempt to blow up the cash machine, leaving the inside looking as if “a bomb has gone off”.

The spokesperson added that the Post Office was “aware it has been a long time”, but said that “the safety of our staff and customers is most important and we are not in a position to reopen the branch yet”.

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear of a firm reopening date.
