Footage has emerged of the terrifying raid on a jewellery shop in the middle of Altrincham town centre today.
Video obtained by the Manchester Evening News shows a group of men in balaclavas holding up traffic on Railway Street as they brazenly stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery in the incident, which happened shortly after 3.30pm.
Beginning moments after the four-man gang had used a white Jaguar to ram raid the jewellers, the video shows the men loading their haul into a black Mercedes getaway car, scotching earlier reports they had escaped on foot.
While stunned motorists sit in their cars nearby, the car is then driven at speed in the direction of Ashley Road.
