A teenager is in custody after an armed robbery on a Timperley shop this evening.
The incident took place at around 5.40pm at the Nisa store on the corner of Park Road and Heyes Lane.
A shop assistant was hurt when he tried to fight off the attacker, who was armed with a knife. It’s understood his injuries are not serious.
The assistant then managed to detain the teenager until police arrived.
Several police cars and ambulances were at the scene for over an hour and the area was for a time cordoned off.
