A number of Altrincham-based enterprises have won a share of £15,000 of community funding.

Hundreds of residents attended an event in Goose Green on Saturday to vote on which of 10 projects would secure funding.

In the end, however, all the participating projects were declared worthy of the funding, which was made available through Trafford Council’s Community Grants scheme.

The successful projects included the creation of a heritage timeline trail through Altrincham, an ‘Eat Well for Less’ workshop course encouraging healthy eating on a budget, and the installation of 12 lamp post planters in Altrincham town centre.

Cllr Laura Evans, Chair of the South Trafford Locality Partnership and Executive Councillor for Communities and Partnerships, said: “Congratulations to all of the projects and I am so pleased that given how hard each of they worked on their nominations and the strength on the proposals, that they all got a slice of the funding.

“The event itself was a great success and a wonderful showcase of some of the fantastic community projects being delivered in South Trafford. Goose Green was a wonderful location for the event and we would like to thank the local businesses for welcoming us, as well as all of the participants and the hundreds of residents who came along to vote.”
