Altrincham Leisure Centre has unveiled a new Move Zone and cycle studio and increased its exercise timetable to 47 classes a week.
Trafford Leisure said it had introduced the new timetable following consultation and feedback from customers, with now more early morning and evening sessions.
The new classes are largely holistic including Pilates and yoga, with Natalia Galobart, a well-established teacher practising in Hatha and Yin Yoga, leading three specialist yoga classes each week.
Trafford Leisure has also enlisted the help of well-known personal trainer Pierre Pozutto to develop a signature Trafford Leisure, indoor cycling class, TAB (to a beat) for all fitness levels.
General manager Paul Murray said: “We’ve taken a closer look at our fitness classes and revamped our timetable to offer more sessions than ever before! It’s packed with a variety of different ways to get fit, plus we have a number of new instructors to give them a fresh boost over the coming months. We are so excited both with the quantity and quality of the group exercise timetable. There really is something for everyone, from beginner to elite athlete. There has never been a better time to get fit, stay active and feel great.”
The new timetable is accompanied by a refurbished Move Zone (formally the lower practice hall) and a brand new cycle studio, now called the ‘Cycle Zone’. Both the revamped areas incorporate innovative fitness and wellness technology, Myzone, making exercise interactive and trackable. Myzone is a heart rate based system that uses wireless cloud technology to monitor physical activity.
Last year it was confirmed that the leisure centre – which was built in 1974 – would be replaced by a new £22million facility by 2022.
