Altrincham cheese manufacturer Burt’s Cheese has been recognised at the British Cheese Awards.

It won two Gold Awards for its Burt’s Blue (1kg wheel and their smaller 180g truckle) at the ceremony, which took place at the Royal Bath & West Show in Somerset.

This year’s competition attracted just under 900 entries from 122 makers, with 70 judges reviewing 123 classes of cheese.

Cheeses were scored on presentation, texture, aroma, flavour and balance.
