Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys are the two best state secondary schools in the North West, according to a major new guide.
The schools were ranked first and second in The Sunday Times’ annual Parent Power rankings.
Nationally, Altrincham Grammar School for Girls ranked eighth in the guide, up three places from last year, with Altrincham Grammar School for Boys listed as 23rd nationally.
Once again, schools in Altrincham feature prominently in the rankings, with Loreto Grammar coming in sixth and St Ambrose College 13th. Sale Grammar was ninth.
Parent Power – The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2020 ranks schools by their recent examination results, specifically the percentage of pupils achieving A-levels at grades A*-B, and (for secondaries) GCSEs at grades A*-A.
