Two more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Trafford, taking the total to six in the borough.

Public Health England will be contacting those who have been in close contact with the residents and will advise any individuals or workplaces on any action required.

Anyone who is not contacted by Public Health England does not need to take any action at this time other than following the general advice on the NHS website.

Trafford Council says it is working closely with health colleagues, including NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group, to ensure the people of the borough are protected.

Eleanor Roaf, Director of Public Health for Trafford Council said: “Trafford has strong infection control arrangements in place and we are working with health colleagues in the NHS to do everything we can to stop the virus spreading and ensure the people of Trafford are protected.

“Good hygiene is the best prevention and there are some simple steps you can take to protect you and your family by washing your hands regularly and thoroughly and if you cough, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue.

“We will continue to work with Public Health England to share up to date and relevant information with our residents and other partners.”
