A 42-year-old cyclist injured in a crash at a Dunham Road junction has sadly died

A 42-year-old cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision with a car close to Dunham Massey yesterday morning has died.

A 42-year-old cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision with a car close to Dunham Massey yesterday morning has died.

We reported yesterday how officers attended the scene of a collision yesterday between a Red Ford Tourneo Connect and a blue bicycle at the junction of Dunham Road, Paddock Lane and Warburton Lane.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he sadly died this morning.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

PC Neil Dalley of GMP’s Serious Collision investigation Unit, said: “This was a devastating collision which has resulted in a man losing his life. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.”

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage which may assist us to contact us as soon as possible.”
