A live-streamed event featuring local performers and businesses is to celebrate Altrincham’s reopening tomorrow.

‘Alty Day’ has been organised by Hale Barns Carnival and Bowdonbury creator Max Eden and Radio Alty DJ Pete Scotson.

The event, which will be broadcast live from WA15 Studios in Hale, will feature local musicians and performers – and will be streamed live on the Altrincham Today Facebook page.

It will take place between 10am and 2pm and will also be broadcast live on Radio Alty.

The acclaimed Tom Seals will be among those performing

Organiser Max Eden said: “We wanted to do something to show our support for the local businesses which are reopening following lockdown, supporting not just the businesses themselves, but the individuals and also providing a showcase for the talented performers and musicians in the town too.

“It’s a celebration of all things Altrincham!”

Local musician Tom Seals, all-female string group String Infusion and singer Erika Ignata will all feature.

The event is free to watch and there will be fundraising on the day for local charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Pete Scotson added: “CAFT are a fantastic local charity which do amazing work, having worked with the charity on some of their fundraising projects, I’ve seen first hand how incredible the work they do is, funds raised during Alty Day will be going to supporting this local charity and helping to continue its vital work.”
