Altrincham’s Christmas celebrations are set to kick off in style on Saturday 20th November with the return of the magical Lantern Parade.

The festive opener will start at midday when local schools and community choirs take to the stage in the Not So Secret Grotto in Stamford Square.

The parade itself will then start in Goose Green at 4.15pm, meandering throughout the town before arriving in the Stamford Quarter for the finale at 5pm.

There, the Music Place will lead a Christmas singalong during which the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on.

Other highlights for Christmas include the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ FREE street theatre taking place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 26th November – 19th December, in locations throughout the town including The Stamford Quarter, George Street, Stamford New Road, Lloyd Street, the Downs and Oxford Road.

There will also be a ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ FREE family town trail. Participants can either complete the trail over four weeks or from Friday 17th December, when all the installations will be in place, and trail sheets can be collected from Jake Shoes on George Street.
