St Ambrose Preparatory School in Hale Barns is holding two open days later this month as it opens its doors to girls for the first time in over 70 years.

The independent Catholic school is inviting parents to visit its newly refurbished Nursery and Reception classes on Thursday 24th March and Saturday 26th March, from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Head of school, Miss Aldridge, said the now fully co-educational school was proud to be welcoming girls for the first time.

“It’s wonderful to see the girls of St Ambrose flourishing, expressing themselves and becoming confident lifelong learners in our stimulating and supportive environment,” she said.

“We’re a family-based school in the heart of a wonderful and caring community, one which promotes mutual respect and the very highest standards of behaviour and work. We can’t wait for the parents in our community to experience the start that our school can provide to their children’s life.”

St Ambrose Prep has a broad curriculum of extra-curricular and sporting activity

The school offers a rich and diverse curriculum, with pupils educated in small classes no larger than 22 and enjoying a 90% pass rate to the top local grammar schools.

St Ambrose also has a broad curriculum of extra-curricular and sporting activity, with modern facilities, playing fields, Astroturf pitches and a swimming pool. The school offers 30 hours of early-years funding per week.
