The Trooping the Corgis exhibition has been proving a big hit with visitors to the town centre – and they’ll be visible in shop and business windows for another couple of weeks yet.

But at the end of June, you’ll be able to bid to own one of the unique, life-size corgi sculptures for yourself when they go up for auction.

And it’s now been announced that the auction will take place on Thursday 30th June, with viewing open from 6pm and the auction taking place at 7pm.

Tickets for the auction can be reserved on Eventbrite, and the ‘dogalogue’ can be downloaded here.

Proceeds from the auction will support community art projects in Altrincham through Inch Arts.

Some of the corgis before they were stationed around the town

The town-wide art trail has been organised by Altrincham BID, who produce VisitAltrincham.com, and Inch Arts.

Guides and maps are available in the latest issue of Altrincham Today magazine, and from pick-up points around the town including Inch Arts, The Travel Shop at Altrincham Interchange, Everyman Cinema and The Unicorn.

Mandy White, Altrincham’s BID Manager, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of the Corgis and our thanks goes to all the artists and businesses who have supported the project.

“We could not believe the immediate demand for places at the auction and have had to move it to a bigger venue to accommodate all of those wishing to attend. It has been fantastic to see so many people around the town enjoying the Corgis, if you haven’t yet seen them yet, we’d really encourage you to make a trip to Altrincham.”
