Lockdown has been particularly difficult for fans of all colours in the North West, with no live football since March 2020.
But Altrincham Football Club intend to turn its dire effects into an opportunity.
Off the pitch, the club have spent time devising a way to bolster future attendances, and the board hope to achieve this aim through their new initiative, ‘Future Robins’, that comes into effect this Saturday.
The scheme aims to support and attract a new generation of young fans to the J Davidson Stadium. The club are reducing ‘Alty TV Live’ coverage of their fixture against Boreham Wood on Saturday 20th February to £5 – setting aside a free junior match ticket for each stream sold.
So, a £5 purchase will lead to 1 future ticket being provided by the club, while the board will generously up the numbers of tickets to 10 if a supporter donates £25.
Anyone paying £50 will be thanked at half-time on the stream, as well as generating a further 25 tickets. A limited number of £100 corporate options are also available – with more details available directly from the football club.
When the club receive the metrics at the end of game on Saturday, the according number of junior tickets for future Robins’ fixtures will be evenly distributed across all primary schools.
Sitting sixth in the league after 23 games and with one of the best starts to a National League campaign in recent history, it is difficult to recall a better time to start watching the Robins.
Another benefit is that Altrincham’s game does not clash with either Manchester City or Manchester United’s, who respectively play Arsenal and Newcastle on Sunday.
Having quickly reached their original target of 1,000 children’s tickets, the board plan to go above and beyond the original figure. But to do that, we need your help.
