A new Altrincham development comprising eight homes and two apartments has been completely sold within three months of completion.
Swallow Green, on Bridgewater Road, was finished by developer Square One Homes in May.
The scheme has been sold principally to young professional first-time homeowners, many of whom used the Help to Buy initiative to get on the housing ladder.
Mike Dowse, Director of Square One Homes, said: “We were caught up in the Covid-19 crisis and with the support of our financiers and prospective purchasers managed our way through this difficult period to complete and sell the new homes. We are delighted that the scheme is now fully occupied.”
Another director, Peter Skelton, added: “The words ‘affordable housing ‘are often misleading and on many schemes purely refer to a discount to the asking price. At Square One we have designed homes which can be purchased by first time buyers at realistic levels. The success of Swallow Green offered purchasers an opportunity to buy a new house in Altrincham at asking prices starting at below £170,000 (before Help to Buy).”
