A dietician is inviting people to learn the step by step approach to managing weight with a new six-week course to be held at Tesco in Altrincham.
Christine Kenny (above) is starting a weight management course that she says will provide “sensible, straightforward advice” for people who have struggled with yo-yo dieting in the past.
The course takes place between 5.45pm and 7pm on Wednesday evenings from March 18th and will be held at the community room in Tesco Extra.
Some of the topics the course will discuss include:
- What is a balanced diet?
- How do I control the amount I eat and deal with cravings?
- How do I learn to listen to my body and stop mindless eating?
- How do I build exercise/activity into my day?
- How do I keep on track when life throws gets in the way and how do I deal with nights out and special occasions?
The course costs £70 if paid in full before March 11th (usual price: £90), with all handouts, activities and cookery sessions included in the price.
Christine, a registered dietitian, said: “The course will suit anyone who is looking for a sustainable approach to weight loss, particularly people who have tried different diets or slimming groups in the past but find they gradually regain the weight.
“Those attending will learn about the behavioural aspects of dieting and the reasons they keep putting weight on – by the end of the course they will be able to incorporate our step by step approach into their life permanently.”
