An Altrincham-based company has won a £2.2m contract to refurbish The Lowry complex in Salford Quays.
Styles&Wood, the property services and project delivery specialist, will be revamping the building’s dining area as well as extending the Lowry facilities onto the external terraces that face the Imperial War Museum North and the Manchester Ship Canal.
There are also plans for an enlarged conference facility and a new bar.
The job, which was won after a competitive tender process, is expected to take 13 weeks to complete.
Operations director, Paul Lonsdale, said: “The Lowry is an iconic building in the North West and we’re delighted to be working on such an important project for the region.
“The centre attracts more than 800,000 visitors a year and the refurbishment works will ensure that The Lowry continues to be a prime leisure destination for both tourists and local residents alike.”
