Altrincham solicitors McHale & Co has set its sights on becoming Trafford’s “number one law firm” after extending its footprint with the acquisition of Stretford practice J Arnold Hancock & Co.
McHale & Co, set up by local resident Andrew McHale in 2001, now has a presence in Heywood, Stretford, London and Dublin, employing over 50 staff in total.
Robert Thorpe, who joined J Arnold Hancock & Co in 1965 as an office junior, will be remaining with the practice.
Senior partner Andrew McHale said: “The opportunity in Stretford came about and for me it was a no-brainer. We are no well established in Altrincham and Heywood. We are always looking to get bigger and stronger and there is a real lack of legal presence in Stretford.
“We hope to become Trafford’s number one law firm as we have some of the most experienced solicitors in the country. We are always open to approaches from firms or talented individuals as we continue to expand.”
