Hale businesses have teamed up to launch a campaign to ensure that Hale’s Christmas lights really shine this year.
Since funding was withdrawn by Trafford Council two years ago, the Hale Business Association (HBA) has had to rely on the generosity of local businesses to provide any Christmas lights at all in the village.
Fundraising has proved increasingly difficult, so a new strategy has been planned for 2017 – and it launches today, Valentine’s Day.
Penny English, of HBA, said: “We all love Hale and really want it to shine especially at Christmas. Many local people don’t realise the Christmas lights must now be funded locally.
“We have taken this decision early as we really do need to plan ahead. We are aware that many businesses plan their marketing campaigns at the beginning of the year and therefore we very much hope that some will consider coming on board. Individuals or families are also welcome to sponsor a bauble.
“The 15 sponsors will each receive exposure throughout the year and thanks for their generosity in ensuring that Hale shines this Christmas.”
Barbara Hallwood, MD of Hale-based Marketing Profile, added: “We are delighted to be working with HBA on this exciting initiative. It really is a great opportunity for businesses to get involved, or indeed local individuals or families.
“You do not need to have a business in Hale to be a sponsor – you just have to want to see the village shine!
“Throughout the year, the sponsors will receive branding exposure – a great way to promote their business and to really support the village.”
