Former FA and BBC chief’s hotel company buys Cresta Court

Vine Hotels, headed by former Football Association chairman and BBC director general Greg Dyke, has acquired the Best Western Cresta Court in Altrincham.

Vine Hotels, headed by former Football Association chairman and BBC director general Greg Dyke, has acquired the Best Western Cresta Court in Altrincham.

The property is a first for Vine Hotels in the Manchester region, adding to its existing Southampton and Sheffield locations.

The Cresta Court is a member of the Best Western brand marketing consortia but was previously owned by Longrose Buccleuch Hotels.

It has recently undergone a series of renovations which include the addition of seven brand new executive rooms, the re-location and refurbishment of the Townfields bar and restaurant as well as the full refurbishment of the existing bedrooms.

Garin Davies, Vine Hotels’ chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have added Best Western Cresta Court to our portfolio. It is a great business and anyone who hasn’t visited the hotel for a while will be very pleasantly surprised by the high levels of quality and service.”
