A Hale-based solicitor has been shortlisted for the ‘Woman Lawyer of the Year’ award by the Law Society.
Emma Nawaz, managing director of Blackstone Solicitors on Cecil Road, has been included in the nominations for the Law Society of England and Wales’ Excellence Awards.
Since setting up in 2010, Nawaz has grown the firm from scratch to 30 staff and earlier this year opened an office in Mayfair.
She’s a respected litigation lawyer who has gained notoriety for her defence of Iranian clients against the high street banks.
Nawaz said: “I am thrilled to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards and to be recognised alongside some respected colleagues in the legal profession. I have worked hard to build Blackstone Solicitors and I am extremely proud of our achievements to date.”
The Law Society’s annual awards event recognises commitment, enthusiasm and passion.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London in October.
