The Good Catch has been crowned the UK’s best fish and chip business with multiple sites at the National Fish & Chip Awards.
The Hale chip shop, which has six outlets across Cheshire, Manchester and Merseyside, was named Best Multiple Fish and Chip Operator at the Royal Lancaster Hotel ceremony in London.
Judges considered factors including responsible sourcing policies, outlet appearance and facilities, menu development and innovation, supplier relationships, marketing and staff development.
Unannounced visits were also made by the judges.
Chris Pittaras, owner of the The Good Catch, said: “We operate a family-run business and our heritage is firmly embedded in the industry, with our grandfather and father owning and operating their own fish and chip businesses as well.
“We pride ourselves on our reputation of providing great service and quality, so to be recognised among some of the best in the industry for delivering the highest standards across all of our locations is a real honour.”
Marcus Coleman, chief executive at awards organiser Seafish, added: “Not only do they have incredible determination and ambition, but their passion to succeed is evident across the entire business operation.
“With each site working at a high standard to provide an exemplary customer experience, it’s apparent that talent is in abundance at The Good Catch.”
