Sarah Birdsey has taken over as the new owner of Nicholls Solicitors, almost 20 years after undertaking work experience at the Timperley law firm as an undergraduate.
The firm, which has been based in Timperley village for 16 years, was originally set up by Patrick Nicholls in 1989.
Ms Birdsey said: "It is an immense honour to have been given this opportunity and to be trusted, by Patrick, to take over this practice that he has nurtured for 30 years.
"The firm has built up a stellar reputation which I want to strive to protect and build on going forward."
Nicholls Solicitors, which has 10 staff, has specialist experience with litigation matters such as boundary and land disputes, inheritance disputes, breach of contract claims and partnership and company disputes.
The firm also deals with wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney, domestic and commercial conveyancing.
Ms Birdsey, who has completed a management buy-out at the firm, specialises in family law, covering the breakdown of relationships, dealing with divorce and financial matters arising out of that and the child arrangements that need to be resolved.
