A new Cheshire-based health service has launched to give people advance warning of the "world's biggest killer" - before it's too late.
Tomorrow Wellness is offering men and women a new cutting-edge full-body cardiovascular screening service that can detect issues with your heart before an event like a stroke, heart attack, aneurysm or even vascular dementia.
It's been launched by Tomorrow Cardiovascular Ltd, a Manchester-based company which celebrated its 25th year in business earlier this year.
David Willis, CEO of Tomorrow Wellness, says the new service is the first of its kind and was born out of frustration at seeing patients when preventative action was no longer possible.
"Cardiovascular disease is still the biggest killer of people on the planet but it is the sort of thing you can see from as early as your 30s - there's a long lead time to an event happening. 90% of bad cardiovascular health is preventable.
“Our state-of-the-art screening service can pick up indicators of your disease much earlier in life, meaning you are then more likely to make the right life choices to prevent it deteriorating.”
He added: “It’s also a myth that it’s purely an old man’s disease. It also affects women equally, and indeed outcomes can sometimes be worse for women.”
Tomorrow’s service involves 10 non-invasive specialist tests within two hours, including blood analytics, a functional strength test, a body composition test, vascular blood vessel imaging, heart stress ECG and a cardiopulmonary exercise test.
The data is then discussed with a specialist doctor during a 45-minute appointment, allowing the patient to walk away with a complete picture of their cardiovascular health.

Willis’s passion for the service springs from his own experiences as a child, having been born with a major heart condition that wasn’t detected until a routine appointment at school.
“I was five and the nurse came into school and listened to my heart and discovered what was eventually diagnosed as a heart murmur. Four weeks later I was having a major heart operation and in fact I had four major operations before I was 11.
“I went on to play football as a scholar for Blackburn Rovers, and I’m very much still here at 40, but none of that would have happened if that nurse hadn’t listened to my heart.”
Patients can choose from one of three packages - Insight, Explore or a monthly Optimise package - with prices starting from £299.
