A home care agency serving communities across Altrincham, Sale, Urmston and surrounding areas has been awarded an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) - the highest grade the national regulator can award.
Right at Home South Trafford, which provides companionship, personal care, respite care and dementia care to people in their own homes, was assessed by CQC inspectors between February and March 2026.
The agency, managed by Mark Beeby and supported by registered care manager Michele McLennan and a team of more than 30, received Outstanding ratings in two of the five key categories - Caring and Well-led - with Good ratings across Safe, Effective and Responsive.
Inspectors found that people receiving care consistently described staff as treating them "like family", with the report noting clients felt "truly respected and valued as individuals". One person told inspectors: "They treat me as a friend and how you would react with a friend. It's not just physical care, it’s social... the communication is vital."
The Outstanding rating was underpinned by examples of staff going significantly beyond their core duties.
The report describes one carer who, recognising that a person had lost touch with long-standing friends from a career in healthcare, made contact with two former colleagues and arranged a supported afternoon tea at the person's home.
Inspectors also highlighted a proactive Falls Prevention Programme, which included enhanced staff training and a factsheet for clients and families on footwear, mobility aids and home safety, and contributed to a measurable reduction in avoidable falls.
