Hale Barns restaurant Fox raised over £2,000 for the Lalley Toy Appeal over Christmas and New Year.
Fox raised the money, which will be spent on toys for underprivileged children at Christmas 2017, by adding a discretionary £2 to diners’ bills.
It hopes to fill 4,000 bags of toys, having contributed 1,900 bags last Christmas.
Owner Danny Fox has garnered the support of retailer B&M to provide toys at a discounted price, as well as securing free batteries from Trafford-based business JCB.
“In 2016, the appeal was able to provide a sack of toys to 1,900 under privileged children in the Manchester and Cheshire area at Christmas – which is a great achievement,” said Fox.
“It’s a privilege to be able to help the appeal as each toy sack is made specifically for each child, based on their age, gender and any special needs they may have.
“Fox is looking to continue its support of Lalley in 2017 with talks already underway for hosting a ladies event later in the year.”

“We are now in our fifth year and each year we have increased the number of bags we make for the children. We are looking forward to this Christmas and hopefully smashing our target.”
