Green bin collections will be moving to fortnightly from weekly due to the increase in Trafford coronavirus cases.
The One Trafford Partnership – a partnership between Trafford Council and service provider Amey – has announced that the escalating situation means it is “not able to operate a full waste collection service at the moment”.
As a result, green bins and green caddies will be collected every two weeks – together with the grey bin – from this Monday, October 19th.
There was a similar disruption in green bin services when the lockdown was introduced in March, with services not returning to normal until July.
The One Trafford Partnership says that residents should consult the bin collection calendar for the new collection schedule.
If a green bin hasn’t been emptied as scheduled, residents should report it within two working days of when it should have been collected. Residents should then leave their bin out and a crew will return to empty it as soon as possible.
