Altrincham set to bloom this summer with new 'Petal Pathway' trail

The floral trail is timed to coincide with the start of the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

The Petal Pathway has been created by Katy Quinn from Cheshire Paper Flowers

Altrincham is set to bloom this summer with the launch of the Petal Pathway, a vibrant trail of paper flowers across the town centre.

Running from Wednesday 17th July to Sunday 18th August, the floral trail is timed to coincide with the start of the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

It's been coordinated by Altrincham BID and created by the talented Katy Quinn from Cheshire Paper Flowers.

Altrincham’s Petal Pathway will guide visitors through a trail of intricately crafted paper flowers displayed in the windows of the shops and businesses around the town.

Each installation will be accompanied by information about the flower it represents.

The initiative aims to celebrate all things floral while promoting sustainability and providing a free activity for residents and visitors during the summer.

The trail also features a competition element offering participants the chance to win prizes.

During the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, Visit Altrincham will have a dedicated stand promoting the town and highlighting the many events and activities taking place over the summer months.

The RHS Flower Show returns to Tatton Park between July 17th and 21st

To complement Altrincham’s Petal Pathway, workshops are also taking place in the town.

These include a Terrarium Workshop with Green & Grounded at The Beacon on Thursday 18th July and a Summer Holiday Community Growing Club with Bounceback Foods Community Kitchen on four dates during the school summer holidays. More information here.

The Petal Pathway and the Summer Holiday Community Growing Club have been coordinated by Altrincham BID and have received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Mandy White, Director of Altrincham BID, said: "The objective of the Petal Pathway is to support the town's footfall over the summer and to celebrate all things floral.

"We are thrilled to provide FREE entertainment for visitors and the local community, creating a unique trail where everyone can enjoy the beauty of sustainably crafted flowers.

"This initiative not only showcases the talent of local artist Katy Quinn but also reinforces Altrincham’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement."
