This Saturday sees one of the highlights of the Altrincham calendar – the Christmas Lights Switch-On.

Lantern-making workshops
Free lantern-making workshops in two locations – come and make your twinkling lanterns ready for the big parade!
At the Stamford Quarter (6 George Street, next door to WH Smith)
At Art with a Heart (82-84 George Street)
Musical showcase in Stamford Square in association with Trafford Sound
A fantastic line-up of live music and dance from local bands, singers and community organisations, from 12-4pm on the main stage in Stamford Square.

Lantern Parade
Captain Christmas and his Merry Band will arrive on Shaws Road (outside Altrincham Market) and play a jolly rendition of Christmas songs before leading the lantern parade down to Stamford Square for the big lights switch-on.
Assemble from 4pm on Shaws Rd (opposite Market House) and the parade will depart at 4.30pm
Visit Santa in the Lantern Workshops
Santa will be in town for the day as part of Altrincham Rotary Club’s Salvation Army Toy Appeal. Bring along a new toy or non-perishable food for the appeal, and tell Santa your ChristmasWishes
1-2pm & 3.30-4pm at Art with a Heart
2.30-3.15pm at 6 George Street (next door to WH Smith)
Christmas Lights Switch On Show
The switch-on show will begin at 4.40pm with live music from Absolute Belters, Amada Heywood and Little Belters, with special guests Katie and Chris from CBBC joining us for the big countdown and switch-on at around 5.15pm.
