The Goose Green Summer Festival is back for a second year.
This year’s free festival will take place on Sunday 28th August, with live music and family entertainment running from 2 to 8pm.
Acts will include popular local singers Jordan Drinkwater and Liam McClair, up-and-coming Manchester bands Blank Cheque, Casual Agenda and Prose, while The Henry Revue and The Jailbirds will be back having wowed the crowds at last year’s festival.
Altrincham BID has has teamed up with the Goose Green Traders Federation and Trafford Sound radio station for the event and will be hoping it is as big a hit as last year, when hundreds attended.
Katie Bland, manager of Altrincham BID, said: “The Goose Green Summer Festival will be the first event organised and supported by Altrincham Business Improvement District following its launch in April.
“We’re looking forward to putting on a fantastic day of free music and entertainment for the local community, and attracting plenty of visitors to Altrincham over the August bank holiday weekend.”
Family entertainment will include a treasure hunt, face-painting, giant games and a children’s entertainer.
Street food will be available throughout the day from Café Cleo, while Traders Tiki Bar, The Green Room, Costello’s, La Piazza and House Restaurant & Bar will all be open for alfresco food and drink.
Mark Rubin, chair of the Goose Green Traders Federation, added: “We are delighted to be working with Altrincham BID on the Goose Green Summer Festival. Last year’s event was hugely popular, and it was a joy to see Goose Green packed with families enjoying the entertainment.
“This year’s festival will be bigger and better again, and all our businesses are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase Goose Green as one of the jewels in Altrincham’s crown.”
