Residents in Bowdon and Bowdon Vale are invited to a special picnic and family fun day at Bowdon Recreation Ground this Sunday.
The free event, called ‘Picnic in the Park’, is being organised by the Friends of Bowdon Recreation Ground and is intended to be an opportunity to celebrate the park and bring people together.
It will also provide an opportunity for the local community to talk about the work of the Friends group, begin fundraising efforts and share ideas about the future of the park.
Chair of the Friends Group, Thomas Hague, said: “We are delighted to be organising this Picnic in the Park. We hope it will be a great way of bringing our local community together and celebrating our local park.
“Whilst the recreation ground is a well used and popular area, we believe that there is a lot we can do to improve its facilities and make it appeal to, and be used by many more people. There is a great community within Bowdon and Bowdon Vale and this picnic is a chance for us to tell people more about what we hope to achieve and get as many local people and businesses involved.”
The picnic takes place between 12 and 3pm at the Recreation Ground. There will be entertainment, games, a raffle, tombola, cake stall and more.
If anyone wishes to donate raffle or tombola prizes, these can be left at Coffee & Kitchen Bowdon on Vicarage Lane up to this Friday.
